The short tube included with the mask is part of the mask itself and is not designed to connect directly to the CPAP machine. It connects to a standard 6-foot CPAP hose, which then attaches to the device.
After years of the expense and frustration of trying many masks, I found this - my perfect mask. This is my third, and the last one had worn out. This new one is such an improvement! Great price, service, and fast delivery.
The mask was not very comfortable and when I removed it, it left an under the top of my nose. I have not used it since that time, but may possibly try it again.
